This expedition is an essential partnership between #KAUST (Saudi Arabia) and the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (#JAMSTEC). 

We are studying the extremophiles = fantastic microorganisms that can provide information about the evolution of life on our planet, help answer questions such as what life would be like on other worlds (astrobiology), and have the potential to be applied in biotechnology.
